Beyond the Lies is a non-fiction book for the loved ones of people with Substance Use Disorder (SUD). If you have an addicted loved one, you may not realize you are playing a part in a movie. At times it is a horror film. Other times it is a tale of mystery which leaves you puzzled. Beyond the Lies gives you the script to the scenes of this movie before you find yourself in them. There are countless ways that addicts manipulate their loved ones and even themselves. Does any of this sound familiar? * Have you ever spoken up to the addict or alcoholic in your life about their using and their response created some doubt in your mind? * Have they ever said something like, “It’s not what you think it is,” and made you question what you saw, heard, or smelled? * Did your gut instinct ever tell you something was not right, but then they came up with some excuse which made you feel like maybe your gut feeling was wrong?
