Om boken
In Fellowship Baptist Trailblazers 1, we discover fifty-one life stories of pastors, missionaries and church leaders who have had an impact for Christ and his kingdom while serving the Fellowship of Evangelical Baptist Churches in Canada (fellowship.ca) at various churches, schools, on boards and in overseas ministry.
Book 1 features those who were born during the time of the World Wars and the Great Depression in the twentieth century. They were true pioneers in gospel work in Canada, particularly in the province of Quebec where some even faced imprisonment for their preaching. These men and women left a lasting legacy on the evangelical Baptist movement in Canada and in foreign missions.
While each person's journey is unique, when brought together they shine a bright light on the gospel work of God across Canada. In these stories, you will discover the power of the gospel to change hearts and lives, the breadth of God's work in raising up and growing Christ-centred leaders and the ways that variously gifted men and women-with all their weaknesses, heartaches and challenges-can be used to advance the cause of Christ and live for his glory.
There are presently over 500 Fellowship churches in Canada, and in each one, men and women are seeking to serve the Lord Jesus with faithfulness, Christlikeness and joy. It is hoped these stories-just a handful of the many that could be told-will encourage readers to press on as they read about these faithful witnesses. May God raise up many more "trailblazers" to follow in their footsteps.
