The general introduction includes details of Borneo’s geology, climate and vegetation; abbreviations and conventions, the topography of crocodiles, turtles, lizards and snakes, a section on treatment for snake envenomation, and a glossary of technical terms. There is an introduction to each family as well as dichotomous keys as a quick aid to identification.
