How Covenants Impact Your Life

In David's search for the true nature of God, he discovered His covenant-heart, and at the core of that covenant was an extraordinary loving-kindness (Hebrew word- hesed). God's covenant-love secured his victory over the giant Goliath, hid him and saved him from his enemies, and transported David from a shepherd to a king. Hesed was also the strong arm of God's covenant mercy that rescued David from the deep water of his many failures. The New Covenant, still embracing all of God's hesed, is His way of relating with His people today, offering us everything that David experienced and so much more that is GOOD. As Jim, the author of this book, explored the truth of the covenant-heart of God, he was alarmed to discover that the father of lies has designed BAD false covenants to hold God's people in bondage, and Jim realised that he himself was one of those prisoners. Then Jim found something even more UGLY. The whole population of a nation, both individually and collectively, can be ensnared in ungodly covenants, and again Jim found this to be true for himself and for his own nation of Ireland.
