JOTA: A Queer Latina y Latinx Anthology is a landmark collection of over 70 queer writers and artists. Building on the foundation of Chicana Lesbians: The Girls Our Mothers Warned Us About (1991) and Compa eras (1987), JOTA shares a new addition to the queer Latinx literary and artistic canons with stories, poems, essays, plays, art, and music. JOTA arrives at a critical moment when political systems threaten queer communities once again-yet contributors now have more tools to resist. We will resist JOTA's movement promises to illuminate generational shifts from fear and silence to bold and brazen declarations of identity, honoring the radiant visual and written stories of our ancestors of the past, present, and future.
