La Vie Parisienne: Covers and Cartoons, 1917-1922

While published from 1863 to 1970, the legendary French magazine La Vie Parisienne reached its peak during the World War I years, defining the very spirit of Paris. The weekly employed many of the most famous and talented artists of that tumultuous era, including long-time contributor Chérie Hérouard, poster designer René Vincent, and famed fashion illustrator George Barbier. This large-format hardcover edition offers scores of sumptuous color and often risqué illustrations from the magazine's early 20th century heyday, including cover designs and editorial cartoons, many not readily available for nearly a century.
