Philosophy of Potentiality

First published in 1955, A Philosophy of Potentiality by Leone Vivante continues his exploration of creation, aesthetics, and the positive nature of subjective being, contrasting it with inert notions of subjectivity. The book examines D.H. Lawrence's insights into creative spontaneity and his realization of potentiality as an actual value and ultimate reality. Vivante also addresses art criticism and the ontological foundation of aesthetic values. This work, summarizing his essential ideas, extends his considerable influence on philosophy and literary criticism to a broader audience. This is a must read for scholars and students of Philosophy.
