Radical Adult Education

This book scrutinises the transformative potential of adult education in addressing the challenges posed by current global challenges. Displacement, poverty, violent conflict, climate change, polarised politics, a weakening of human rights and widening inequality become sites where contributors explore their lived and professional experiences, revealing the interconnected nature of these crises. Authors explore how critical reflexivity and understanding systemic power is vital in promoting agentic change, guarding against the domestication of education and the rendering impotent of its transformative possibilities. The book underlines the interconnected domains of knowledge, power and social justice and the central role they play in transformation.
